How to automate the export of shopping list orders to Google Sheets via Zapier

Learn how to set up and use Zapier integration to automate shopping list orders from Flipsnack, using Google Sheets as an exemple. Simplify your ordering process.

You can now gather and manage your orders from flipbooks within spreadsheets using Zapier. This way you can have a centralized location for orders, making it easier to manage your orders.

Note: Zapier integration is available starting with the Business plan.

Follow these steps to set up the Zapier integration:

Step 1: Create the flipbook and set up the shopping list

Log in to your Flipsnack account and create a flipbook by uploading a PDF or creating it from scratch. Then, you must add a shopping list and publish your flipbook, which can be found in Zapier. This article will guide you on how to use the shopping list feature.

Step 2: Obtain your API key from Flipsnack

  1. From the main dashboard, go to Settings, in the lower left corner.
  2. Click on Integrations.
  3. Locate the API key for Zapier specific to your workspace, click on the Copy icon, next to the code, to copy this key as you will need it for the next steps.

Step 4: Choose a destination app - Google Sheets

  1. After setting up the trigger, you must select an app where you want the lead form data to be sent. For example, you can choose to connect with a Google Sheets to keep track of your orders in real-time.

Note: If you want to export your shopping list information to a different CRM (HubSpot, SalesForce, etc.) you can choose from all the available apps in Zapier.

1. Before clicking Continue, you need to make sure that you have the spreadsheet created and ready in your Google Drive, with the information you want to collect. Name the spreadsheet something easy to find and remember, as you'll need to locate it later.

Important: When formatting your worksheet, create column headers with the desired statistics you want to add, and assign titles such as Email, Product, Code, and Price. Each statistic you want to track should have its own column. This setup helps Zapier map the data correctly, as shown in the image below

2.  After selecting Google Sheets, on the App&event tab click on the Events dropdown menu.         From the options that appear, choose Create Multiple Spreadsheets

3. After that, click on Continue and then go to the Account tab where you will have to login to your Google account. Once logged in, move to the Action tab. Here, you'll select your Google Drive, the specific spreadsheet, and the worksheet you want to use.

Next, under the Rows section, you'll need to map the column headers from your spreadsheet to the corresponding data fields. For instance, map the Email to Email Address, Product  to the Order items field, and so forth. The column headers will be displayed here to help you map each one easily.

Note:  After mapping the data, select the correct row. The first row usually contains column titles, so for the first link, choose the second row where the data begins. Your spreadsheet will then automatically populate with orders as you receive them in Flipsnack.

Next, in the Test tab, you can click Skip test or Test step. We recommend selecting Test step to ensure everything is functioning correctly. The test is successful if the green checkmark appears. Afterward, click Publish.

This is how you can automate the flow of trackable links' statistics from Flipsnack to your preferred third-party applications, enhancing your workflow efficiency.
