How to log in to Flipsnack: email, Google, Microsoft, SSO

The four ways in, and how to tell which one your account actually uses

Overview

Flipsnack has four ways in, all of them on one page at app.flipsnack.com/auth/sign-in/: Sign in with Google, Sign in with Microsoft, Sign in with SSO, or an email address and password. Which one works is decided by how the account was created, not by which you prefer. An account opened with Google has no Flipsnack password at all, so resetting one will never help.

💡 Benefits of knowing your sign-in options
  • The method you signed up with is the one that works: knowing which it was saves the whole password-reset detour.
  • One account, every device: your flipbooks, folders and statistics follow the account, not the browser.
  • Signing in with Google or Microsoft means no Flipsnack password: so there is nothing to forget.
  • Two-factor authentication and SSO: for a workspace several people share.

The four are not interchangeable, so it is worth knowing which is yours.

👥 Which sign-in method is yours
  • Email and password: you filled in the sign-up form yourself and verified the address.
  • Google: you clicked Sign in with Google when you signed up. There is no Flipsnack password on the account.
  • Microsoft: the same, through a Microsoft work or personal account.
  • SSO: your IT department added you, and you have never chosen a Flipsnack password.

Nothing has to be enabled first, beyond the account itself.

Requirements

  • A Flipsnack account on any plan, including Free.
  • Access to the email address, Google account or Microsoft account you registered with.
  • For SSO, an Enterprise workspace your administrator has already configured.

Where the login page is

Go to app.flipsnack.com/auth/sign-in/. The Log in link in the top right of flipsnack.com reaches the same page, and the page itself is headed Sign in. Bookmark it rather than searching for it each time.

Whichever method you use, you land on Home, with your flipbooks under Content and the account menu in the top right.

Sign in with email and password

  • Under Or sign in with email, fill in Email and Password.
  • Click Sign in.
  • If the password is not accepted, Forgot password under the field starts a reset. It only works on accounts that have a password, so it will not help a Google, Microsoft or SSO account.

Sign in with Google

  • Click Sign in with Google at the top of the page.
  • Pick the Google account you signed up with. Flipsnack never sees the password.

If you registered with an email address that happens to be a Google account, both routes reach the same Flipsnack account, because the address is what identifies it.

Sign in with Microsoft

  • Click Sign in with Microsoft.
  • Sign in through the Microsoft window that opens, with a work, school or personal Microsoft account.

This is the route for a Microsoft 365 workplace that has not set up SSO. It works per person, and nothing has to be configured centrally first.

Sign in with SSO

Enterprise workspaces can replace Flipsnack passwords with your own identity provider, so people sign in with the credentials they already use at work and IT decides who has access.

Two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication is a step on top of a method, not a method of its own. When it is on, the password or provider sign-in is followed by a six-digit code from your authenticator app. Setting up 2FA covers turning it on, and losing the code is recovered through support.

Tip: Signing in keeps you signed in on that browser, so you rarely repeat it. Sign out from the account menu when the computer is shared, because anyone who opens the browser afterwards reaches your workspace.

When you cannot get in

  • The password is not accepted. Check first whether the account was created with Google or Microsoft, because those accounts have no Flipsnack password. Otherwise reset it.
  • The reset email never arrives. Why a password reset can fail covers spam filters and the wrong address.
  • Flipsnack says the account does not exist. It is almost always a second address, a work one and a personal one. What to do if you cannot find your account walks through finding it.
  • You are in, but your flipbooks are missing. You are in a different workspace, or signed in with the wrong address. Check the account menu in the top right.
  • The upgrade you paid for is not there. Sign out and back in, because the plan is read at sign-in. Why an upgrade may not show has the detail.

Additional tips / FAQs

  • What is the Flipsnack login URL? app.flipsnack.com/auth/sign-in/.
  • Can I switch from Google to a password? Yes. Use Forgot password with the same address, and setting one gives the account both routes.
  • Can I sign in with Google if I registered by email? Only when the address is the same. The address identifies the account, not the button.
  • Is there a Facebook login? No. The page offers Google, Microsoft, SSO and email only.
  • Can two people share one login? They can, but they should not. Invite them as team members instead, so each has their own access and you can see who changed what.
  • Do I need to log in to read a flipbook someone shared? No. Public and unlisted flipbooks open for anyone with the link. Only privately shared ones ask readers to identify themselves.
  • Can I change the email I log in with? Yes, from your account settings: changing your account email address.
