This article explains the difference between deleting your Flipsnack account (permanent removal of data) and cancelling auto-renewal (stopping future payments while keeping access for a grace period and 12 months of data retention).
When managing your Flipsnack account, you may find yourself deciding whether to delete your account or cancel auto-renewal of your subscription. Both options allow you to stop using our platform, but they have different outcomes. Here’s a clear explanation of the difference between the two, so you can choose the best option for your needs.
Deleting your Flipsnack account
Deleting your account is a permanent action. If you choose this option, here’s what will happen:
- Immediate removal of all data: All your flipbooks, projects, and any content associated with your account will be completely erased from Flipsnack’s system. This means that you will lose access to everything.
- Payment cancellation: Any active subscription or payments will be canceled right away. No further charges will occur after deletion.
- Irreversible action: Once your account is deleted, it cannot be recovered. There is no way to restore your flipbooks or data, so make sure you’re absolutely certain before proceeding.
This is a good choice if you’re completely finished with Flipsnack and want to ensure all your information is permanently removed.

Cancelling auto-renewal
If you no longer want to be billed for your Flipsnack subscription but don’t want to lose access to your current projects just yet, or you wish to switch from a plan to another, you can cancel the auto-renewal of your subscription. Here’s what happens when you choose this option:
- Continue using your account until the end of your billing period: When you cancel auto-renewal, your account will remain active for the remainder of your current subscription period. You’ll still have access to all your content and features until your billing cycle ends.
- 21-day grace period: After the current billing period ends, Flipsnack offers a 21-day grace period. During this time, you can still access and edit your flipbooks, but no new payments will be charged.
- Account closure after grace period: Once the 21-day grace period ends, your account will be closed, but you’ll still be able to access your work for up to 12 months. Your data (flipbooks, projects, etc.) will be retained for 12 months, giving you time to download or move your content if needed.
- Reactivation option: If you decide to come back and renew your subscription within that 12-month period, your account will be reactivated, and all your previous projects will be restored.
Cancelling auto-renewal is a great option if you want to stop future payments but still need some time to access your content, switch to another of our subscriptions or decide if you want to continue with Flipsnack in the future.
