What to do if your custom domain settings aren't editable
Restore an editable field that grayed out after a downgrade
Custom domains are available on Flipsnack's higher-tier plans. If you set one up while you had access to it, the setting stays saved on your account — but it becomes read-only the moment your plan no longer includes it. You can see the domain, but you can't edit or remove it.
This usually happens in one of three situations:
- You downgraded to a plan that doesn't include a custom domain.
- Your subscription expired or was canceled.
- You set up a domain during a Free Trial, back when trials gave temporary access to premium features.
Whichever applies, the fix is the same.
Steps to resolve uneditable custom domain settings
- Check what your current plan includes. Open your Billing settings to see your active subscription, or compare our plans to find one that includes custom domain.
- Upgrade to unlock the setting. Once you're on a plan that includes custom domain, the field becomes editable again and you can change or remove the domain yourself. Nothing is lost while the setting is locked.
- Or ask us to remove it. If you'd rather clear the setting than upgrade, contact support and we'll remove the domain from your account for you.
