Upload size limits in Flipsnack: per file, per session, and per plan

Overview

When working in Flipsnack's Design Studio, you can upload a variety of assets to enhance your flipbooks. For smooth performance and user experience, there are certain file size and quantity limitations you should be aware of. These limits apply per file, not to your entire flipbook or upload session. While there’s no overall limit to the number of assets you can use in a flipbook, understanding these individual restrictions can help you plan your content more efficiently.

File size limits (per file)

These are the maximum allowed sizes for individual files uploaded into Design Studio:

  • Image (JPG/PNG): 20 MB

  • Logo: 20 MB

  • Background image: 20 MB

  • Audio (MP3): 20 MB

  • Video: 1 GB

  • Font: 1 MB

  • Label: 10 MB

  • SVG file: 1 MB

  • GIF file: 20 MB

Note: These are per-file limits. You can upload multiple files as long as each file respects its size limitation.

File quantity limits (per upload session)

  • You can upload up to 100 files (images, videos, or MP3s) in a single upload session.

  • Once the upload is complete, you can continue uploading additional files.

  • There is no limit to the total number of files used in your flipbook.

Flipbook page and file size limits by plan

The limits above apply to individual assets you upload into the Design Studio. Separately, each plan caps how big a single flipbook can be:

  • Starter: 100 pages / 100MB per flipbook
  • Professional: 200 pages / 500MB per flipbook
  • Business: 500 pages / 500MB per flipbook
  • Team: 500 pages / 500MB per flipbook
  • Enterprise: 3,000 pages / 500MB per flipbook

Note: Professional and above share the same 500MB per-flipbook ceiling. If a document exceeds your plan’s page limit, splitting it across several flipbooks or moving to a higher plan both work — and splitting often loads faster for readers.

What happens if I upload a file that exceeds the size limit?
You'll receive an error message and the file will not upload. Please compress or resize the file and try again.
