Overview
The AI translation feature in Flipsnack helps you create multilingual publications with ease. With just one click, you can translate entire flipbooks or specific sections directly in the Design Studio with no external services required.
This feature is ideal for businesses, educators, and publishers who need to reach international audiences while saving time and maintaining consistency across languages.
Flipsnack supports over 29 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hindi, Bengali, and more.
Translation also detects and translates text inside tables, not just regular text boxes, so catalogs and documents that organize content in table format stay accurate across languages.
Requirements:
- Plan: Professional and above.
- The translation feature is available only for flipbooks created from scratch that are not yet published and still carry the Not published label.
How to translate an entire flipbook?
Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Select the flipbook you want to translate. Click on the three dots next to it, and then on Make a copy.
- This step is essential to keep the original flipbook and have a translated version. Otherwise, the original flipbook will be replaced by the translated one.
Step 2: Click on the AI icon next to the copy, then click on Translate.
Step 3: Use the arrow to select a language, then click on Translate. Some important mentions here:

Translations may cause text overlaps or slight layout shifts.

Text inside tables is translated along with the rest of the page. Check column widths afterwards, since translated strings can be longer than the original.

Review and edit your translated content to ensure readability.

Verify the accuracy of translations before publishing.
Translate single or multiple text boxes
If you prefer to translate only certain parts of your flipbook, such as a heading or paragraph, you can use the text box translation feature.
Step 1: Create a copy of the original flipbook.
- This step is essential for keeping the original and having a translated version. Otherwise, the original text will be replaced by the translated one.
- Please note: If you make changes in the initial flipbook, regardless of what language it is on, the changes will NOT automatically happen in the translated version. It’s important to have the final version of the text before you translate it to other languages.
Step 2: Open the flipbook copy in Design Studio.
Step 3: Select the block of text you want to translate. Click on Translate in the top bar menu.
Step 4: Select the language from the dropdown menu on the left side of the menu. Click on Translate.
