How to select multiple elements and group them together

Drag a box over several layers, then move, align, or edit them as one

Overview

Drag a box over several elements with your mouse and they are all selected at once. From there you can move them, resize them, duplicate them, delete them or add them to every page in one action. Group the selection and they stay together, so the next person to open the flipbook moves the logo and its caption as one piece instead of two.

Editing objects one at a time is fine until there are twenty of them. Three features cover the rest: multiple select, Group, and the align icons.

Select several elements at once

Click an empty part of the page and drag a box over the elements you want. Everything inside the box is selected.

A selection behaves like a single element. You can move it, resize it, duplicate it, delete it, or add it to every page: select it, then in the Layers panel footer click the Add on all pages icon.

Group elements so they stay together

Right-click the selection and choose Group. The elements move, resize and edit as one unit from then on, and they stay grouped after you publish the flipbook and come back to edit it later.

To split them again, right-click the group and choose Ungroup.

Align elements to each other

Make your selection, then click one of the align icons in the row at the top of the Layers panel. The elements line up with each other, left, right, centered, top, middle or bottom.

Select a single element instead and the same icons align it to the page.

Additional tips / FAQs

  • Does a group survive publishing? Yes. The elements stay grouped when you reopen the flipbook to edit it.
  • Can I put a group on every page? Yes. Group the elements first, then click the Add on all pages icon in the Layers panel footer. The group becomes one master layer.
  • My drag moves an element instead of drawing a box: you started the drag on top of an element. Start it on an empty part of the page.
  • Can I align one element to the page? Yes. Select it on its own and use the same align icons.
